The summer is disappearing fast and the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness will soon be upon us.

Not being very fond of the very hot summer weather I always watch for the first signs of Autumn.
I noticed last weekend that the hedgerows are now decorated with berries usually associated with Autumn, and the conkers are about to fall from the Horse Chestnut trees. To me a most welcome sight.

It was certainly a nice hot day yesterday. The blackberries are coming to an end now but I must agree with Hathaway that the berries are quite heavy this year.
Does this mean a hard winter I wonder?
Soon have to dig out the sweaters again I suppose followed by the coat as well.

I could definately see the changing colurs of the leaves to autumnal browns on many trees this morning.
However it is very warm again today and a bit of garden I dug yesterday was still very dry.
