Well it is wet and drizzly and not very nice so I guess no one will be venturing too far outside today.

Welcome back Mary and Tracey I have been so busy I did not really notice your days away ... naughty me ...smacked wrists.

hi everyone i'm back at last - i had a days "holiday" on friday - doing the wretched garden which i continued on saturday and sunday but alas i injured my shoulder so badly that i couldn't stand or sit for more than half an hour without wincing in pain, so consequently had 2 throw a sickie on mon and tues, now i'm back in work & am no better than i was sunday & can't take more time off as boss is on hols, ho-hum such is life. Am getting quite good at writing with my left hand now as i can't put any pressure on my right hand yet, just using the mouse is a killer.

Sorry to hear about your bad shoulder Tracey, hope that it will soon be better. My other half also damaged himself whilst digging, and since then he has been hobbling like a ninety year old, I did offer him a walking stick but he just glared at me and limped into the other room!
Very busy at the moment so I will wish you well and see you in the playground tomorrow.

Pat

Hello everyone!

I've been having a very busy week so have hardly had time to post on here. You might have occasionally seen that I was on here, but every time I managed to get on something would interrupt me and I still didn't get a chance to say anything!

Anyway, I'm here now, and on my own at the moment so we'll see how today goes......

I had Tuesday and Thursday off this week to look after the window people. All the windows are now in and look very good so we're pretty pleased with them. Things were going to be finished on Wednesday but then they discovered that our dining room window, which we've had replaced with French doors, had no lintel above it! So they had to rectify that which set things back a bit. Anyway, it's all complete now and they have made very little mess, which is good. Now we have to finish decorating the dining room though, and choose new carpet and curtains!

Yesterday the weather was lovely here, looks like being the same today too. After the men had packed up I walked into the town, just over a mile away, for no particular reason except that it was a lovely day and I could! The blossom is all looking lovely and everything seems so fresh at this time of year. New leaves are appearing on all the trees now, and the hedges have lovely young green leaves on them.

Well, Tracey, I'm sorry to hear that you've hurt your shoulder and arm. The strange thing is that I've done something to my left shoulder and arm! I'm not quite sure what happened as I was just sitting on the settee, I think I was leaning on my left arm a bit, but when I straightened up it was as though something had gone "ping" and it won't "ping" back again! It feels as though I've trapped a nerve or something. Whatever it is, it's very painful! I hope your arm (and mine!) get better soon!

Best wishes to all, and hope you all get chance to enjoy the sunshine.

Mary

Well the weather has been truly brilliant this weekend summer has come early .... however does that mean the Bank Holiday weekend is not going to be so nice I wonder.

A friend of mine said the south coast was packed yesterday with lots of people actually in the sea !!

This morning dawns warm and sunny again ..... I guess this is our short summer spell here early again.

Well our friends the That'll Teach 'em pupils are now limbering up for their AS level exams so we should wish them good luck.

I hope your arm is better Tracey and you did not strain it again this weekend.

Mary I hope you have got the house straight after the window fitters.

Well, it was a lovely sunny, and very hot, weekend, which was great for getting lots of outdoor jobs done. I managed to paint the garage door (undercoat Saturday, topcoat Sunday), cut the grass, and generally clean and tidy things a bit, so the house is starting to look a bit smarter now (from the outside anyway!) We were going to go out somewhere too, but didn't get the time, and I suppose everywhere would probably have been quite busy anyway with being so sunny and warm. I actually quite enjoyed painting the garage really! It was nice to be outside and good to do a job where you can see an improvement when you've finished!

Yesterday night we did the basecoat in the back room until 10.00pm! So that's looking a lot better now too. Still lots to do though........!

Today is grey and still and they've forecast heavy rain and thunder...!

Mary

The weather here started out heavily overcast but now the sun is trying to break through.

My my Mary you have been really busy the trouble is once you paint a bit the rest starts looking as if it needs doing so you end up doing it all if you are not careful.

I had to laugh my Dad was telling me about their village garden open day on last Sunday and after when they gathered for their cream teas there was a small replica organ (the type that run on punched cards with figures that move etc.) and he was thinking that I would of loved it so took a closer look and found it was sponsored by a firm of Undertakers. He found this highly amusing and asked them how many funerals it had been used on..... the obvious reply was none

It's a bit on the dull side today and cooler than the weekend. Some parts of Manchester have been forecast thundershowers later tonight. My shoulder is still stiff and painful but not half as bad as last week, but with any joint injury, it always seems to take longer to heal. Unfortunately I'm not one of life's natural healers, having broken various small bones in my ankle in my younger days I have become accustomed to pain as a way of life I was always a clumsy kid, I could write a book on my escapades, it would proably read like a comedy of errors at least I can use the computer now without aching for hours after - so I'm pretty happy at the moment

I'm glad your shoulder is beginning to improve Tracey. My left shoulder seems better. Not sure what I did to it but fingers crossed it seems to have sorted itself out for the moment!

Now my right shoulder hurts a bit though - probably from all the painting! Still lots more to do though but we should be able to start on the topcoat now so that will be some colour! A bit more exciting!

We didn't have the thunder that was forecast yesterday, although it did rain very heavily when I went for the bus home. Good job I'd remembered my umbrella!

Today is grey and very dark really but the trees and blossom are looking lovely and brightening things up a bit and all the birds are very busy at the moment, especially blackbirds.

I have been told we have more thinder and laughtening due for Friday.

Togay seems very dark and dismal although not raining at present .... seems summer is over already !

Greg Dyke is back at the BBC - well, for Friday night only, as host of Have I Got News For You. That should be worth watching so I hear.

Monday again, and one look out of the window will tell you that it is BANK HOLIDAY!

Did a bit out in the garden yesterday when it was mainly cloudy with the occasional sunny interval and I am really glad that I took the opportunity to be out there. My intentions were to carry on where I left off last night but no chance with the rain tipping down.

How is the weather in your area? If it is as bad as the weather here what do you intend to do today?

Pat
