Well another week is underway and believe it or not we are just a few weeks away from the start of the second series.

Of course this means it is for some of us a year since we first met on the C4 forums.

I was thinking we should do something special to celebrate the site being a year old in September any ideas as to what we should do would be interesting.

Rain all morning and now in contrast it is sunny and warm. Typical British weather! I suppose that it is good that we get a mixture of wet and dry, it certainly is better for the gardens than tap-water.
I have just wandered up the garden for a breath of fresh air and noticed that the grapes on the arch are really beginning to form, probably due to the rain we have had in the past couple of weeks. Only twice in 37 years have we been able to pick and eat the grapes and if I am lucky we may be doing it again this year! There are so many flowers in bloom it is like looking at a rainbow.
The pond needed topping up the other day and as I walked up the steps with the hose-pipe, the dogs following, I very nearly trod on a slow worm. I had to steel myself to pick it up before the dogs spotted it and decided that they would like a snack. I dropped it amongst the ivy and as far as I know the dogs did not find it.
The forecast for today was for sunny intervals with the next couple of days being similar, I know that they got it wrong today (for a change) but lets hope that the showers stay away during the weekend so that we can all enjoy ourselves. Have a nice weekend, Pat

Hi everyone well it's been pretty hectic here over the past few weeks so I've been keeping my nose to the grindstone. I haven't been able to do my gardening for a while due to the rain. Where have all the slugs and snails appeared from? I hardly saw any last summer!!! At the moment it is sunny but it was torrential rain yesterday and through the latter part of the night. I need to book sometime off work soon to use some of my holiday allowance, otherwise I will be off for most of December at this rate Hope everyone is keeping well?

Hello everyone!!

Sorry I've not been around for a while. As my boss took his holiday earlier in the year he's been around all the time recently making it harder to post. Although I'd not realised how long it's been - doesn't time fly!

Well, here it's really rainy and dismal today - again! I was sound asleep when the alarm went off this morning as it was so dark! Driving to work this morning all the cars had their headlights on as it was so gloomy - and that was at 8.00am! Not what you'd expect for July. The grass is growing like mad but it's always too wet to cut, and all those outdoor jobs are not getting done. I hope we'll have some sunshine soon, preferably at a weekend!

Although perhaps I shouldn't complain. I've had a couple of days off recently, one of which was on Friday to visit the RHS show at Tatton and that was mostly really sunny and hot. We had a really good day there, although I was tired by the end of it as there's so much to see so we spent pretty much all day (from 10.00am until 6.00pm) walking round looking at all the flower displays and show gardens. I really liked the displays of vegetables too, very impressive. I'm not sure that our veges at home will do very well this year. Although they're getting plenty of water they'll not be getting enough sunshine and warmth unfortunately.

Well, I hope that you are all well and not working too hard!

Great to see you back Mary, have you sent the boss away again? I always enjoy reading your posts.
I did see some of Tatton Park on TV but it must have been lovely to actually be there.
We did have a shower of rain on Sunday but apart from that it has been dry, not always sunny but pleasant. My husband had to go to Wales yesterday and said how cold and wet it was down there and I didn't really believe him!
Back to the grindstone, catch you later, Pat

It's quite dull again today but at least it is pleasant to work in cooler surroundings especially when you are busy. Work has been manic for the past few weeks but it's getting calmer now have had a few ideas for new rap stuff so i'll try to get something down on paper first with a view to posting soon. I can't believe it is the 1st of August on Sunday - my how time flies.

I have just been outside for a break and it is lovely. Sunny and warm, not hot, just the way I like it. There are numerous bees, hover flies and butterflies in the garden and it is so peaceful, but then the kids on the block are still in bed! According to theory we have another two hours before the music starts up. If only they liked the same sort of music as me.
Tracey, it is nice to see you posting again, I am glad that you are not so busy now. I will be for the next few days, deadline for the VAT and then invoices all over again.
Enjoy the pleasant weather while it is here, see you later, Pat

Oooh lovely downpour last night from about 8pm (and still raining) - Phil Collins song 4eva in my head "Oh how I wish it would rain down"

Waking the Dead was great last nite. Turns out that Greta's dad was the killer (Greta was the profiler that Boyd fancied) and her dad had abused her as a kid and he was killing all these people to avenge what he had done to Greta when she was young. Last one in series next Sun & Mon

Hello everyone! I am back (I hope) and really glad to be here. Work is a bit slow and no pc to occupy my mind either. Boring!!
Rain?? I think we had the worst of the rain in our area. Our road was like a river and after the storm we had a very nice day on the Wednesday. The road looked as though a lorry had tipped its load of ballast all the way down and the roadsweeper could not get to it because of the parked cars so most of it still remains as a reminder of the storm. What a storm it was! Thunder and lightning with no interval between one stroke of lightning and the next and that lasted for over an hour.
We had another load of rain starting late yesterday morning and lasting until this afternoon. Everything is growing like mad and we have runner beans coming out of our ears. It has also been very hot so the windows are open all day and this morning it sounded as though we were on the coast with all the seagulls screaming overhead!
The flowers have all taken a bashing from the rain but the grapes are swelling quite nicely and if I am lucky there will be a good harvest this year. We have had the grape vine for 37 years and so far have only been able to eat grapes in two of those years. I am now keeping my fingers crossed that we shall have a lot of sun to ripen the grapes.

Well the sun is shining and it seems quite pleasant at resent the muggy atmosphere seems to have gone for a while at last.

Now do not forget Eastenders is on tonight as we are being taken over for the Olympics on Friday.

Before you all disappear next week to the Channel 4 forums to discuss the new series I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for supporting this site on a regular basis for so long.

WELL DONE 10 out of 10
