VINCENT

11 October, 2006 by The_Boss

ITV1 Monday 16th October 2006 9:00pm to 10:30pm

Ray Winstone is back at work playing private investigator Vincent Gallagher. The first series proved a huge hit with the ITV1 viewers, regularly attracting a weekly audience of over seven million. Suranne Jones also reprises her role as Vincent’s colleague Beth.

Vincent is a passionate, headstrong man, who sometimes forgets that he’s running a business and not a crusade. He’s a workaholic who always goes the extra mile. Each episode has a self-contained storyline with the regular characters delving into the dangerous world of private investigations, often working outside the law.

Vincent has an all-star cast including Joe Absolom as super keen junior PI Robert; Angel Coulby as office secretary Gillian; and Senior PI John played by Ian Puleston-Davies.

In episode one Vincent is called upon by distraught wife, Selina Kenyon (Christine Bottomley). Her husband has confessed to the murder of Eva, a hotel chambermaid, and is serving time as a result. Selina is convinced that her husband is being paid to do time for someone else’s crime and she is determined to nail the real killer and find out who is funding the cover up.

Episode one also features Jaime Winstone as Gina, Eva’s best friend; David Fleeshman as hotel owner, Alex Seedor and Derek Riddell as hotel manager Martin Downing.

The four-part series was filmed in Manchester. ITV Productions produced the series, which was written by Vincent creator, Stephen Butchard.

Sita Williams is Executive Producer, and the series is produced by John Rushton and directed by Jeremy Lovering and Terry McDonough.

Sita Williams said: “We are so proud of the first series and the viewing figures backed this up. The whole team returned to work on the second series, which is even better than the original. The entire cast is fantastic and it’s great for Manchester’s reputation as a leading film location.”
