Live from the Royal Albert Hall, Alan Titchmarsh introduces the spectacular climax to the 2006 Proms season.
BBC One broadcasts the second half of this year's musical celebrations for The Last Night Of The Proms, in which conductor Mark Elder leads the BBC Symphony Orchestra, BBC Symphony Chorus and the BBC Singers.
They are joined by tonight's soloist, baritone Dmitri Hvrostovsky, who performs the ever-popular Toreador's Song from Bizet's Carmen. In a feast of music-making, the audience at the Royal Albert Hall will link up with thousands at Proms In The Park parties around the UK for the traditional finale sequence of Elgar's Pomp And Circumstance, Henry Wood's Fantasia On British Sea-Songs and Parry's Jerusalem.
This year, for the first time, the Last Night is available to watch again on demand online for seven days after transmission via the BBC Two website. Viewers watching via digital television can also access detailed information about the music and performers, and http://www.bbc.co.uk/proms offers a complete guide to the season.
*This Prom is also broadcast live on BBC Radio 3 and streamed live online.
