Exclusive collaborations and new moments in music from pioneering artists
The BBC has announced the first acts confirmed to perform at BBC Electric Proms this autumn.

From 25 to 29 October 2006, BBC Electric Proms will take over the Roundhouse and satellite venues all over Camden, London to create new moments in music.

BBC Electric Proms is a celebration of new and innovative musical styles.

Each of the artists performing will be undertaking a unique performance either by showcasing new, previously unheard material or via new collaborations.

Legendary rockers The Who will give a one-off premiere of their rock opera Wire & Glass.

And the new project from Damon Albarn with Paul Simonon, Tony Allen and Simon Tong will premiere with a performance of their new album The Good, The Bad and the Queen in its entirety.

Guillemots will also be creating a new performance with the BBC Concert Orchestra as they embrace the opportunity to create a unique musical collaboration.

More acts will be announced throughout August and September along with details of satellite events at venues all over Camden including the Electric Ballroom, Jazz Café, Barfly, Koko and The Enterprise.

Alongside the more established acts at BBC Electric Proms, upcoming artists and acoustic sets will be performed in the other parts of the Roundhouse.
During the day there will also be film screenings, masterclasses and other musical and visual installations taking place.

Tickets go on sale for the first acts on Wednesday 16th August 2006.

BBC Electric Proms Festival Director, Lorna Clarke, said:“BBC Electric Proms is about creating new moments in music – we are giving new and established artists a unique platform to push musical boundaries, premiere new work and to explore collaborative possibilities."
