BBC 2 Thursday 3rd of August 2006 8:00pm - 9:00pm
Two new dragons join the fire-breathing millionaire investors in the third series of the award-winning Dragons' Den, presented by BBC Economics Editor Evan Davis. The series offers budding entrepreneurs and inventors the opportunity to pitch their idea or product to the dragons in the hope of persuading the millionaires to part with their own cash and invest.
New Dragons Richard Farleigh and Deborah Meaden line up alongside Peter Jones, Duncan Bannatyne and Theo Paphitis for a new, extended series. In addition, two new hour-long specials track the fortunes of the entrepreneurs from the previous series.
Australian multi-millionaire Richard Farleigh made his fortune trading on the world's financial markets and is now a full-time business angel living in Monaco. British multi-millionairess Deborah Meaden launched her own export company straight out of business college and later became managing director of her family's holiday park business. She recently sold the company in a deal worth £33m, whilst retaining a 23 per cent stake.
Programme one features the Nova-flo mechanical device to prevent flooding caused by leaving the taps running in baths or sinks; Totally Different disposable toilet seat covers, individually wrapped for domestic use (the range also includes fleecy toilet seat covers, which aim to solve the problem of cold bottoms on winter nights); Eggxactly. a new product that aims to do for boiled eggs what toasters do for bread; and the Stealth Coffee Table that doubles as a multimedia centre, allowing people to send emails, download music, watch television and play retro computer games – all on their coffee table.
The programme also features new-look tourist maps that offer lifestyle guides to cities, bespoke table plans, and a musical about Houdini.
