Eastenders Cast Changes

It has now been confirmed that David Essex is to join the cast of Eastenders.
He will appear for a fixed period to play Jack Edwards, father of new arrival Honey (Emma Barton) in early 2006. She's a young girl who's employed to catch cheating men red-handed!

David Essex has appeared on TV before as an actor but is better known for his musical career, including stints on stage shows Godspell and Stardust. One of his biggest record hits was Rock On in 1974.

Other new faces include Phil Daniels who will play Kevin Wicks, a charismatic family man who arrives in Walford in pursuit of his son Deano. He will appear early next year.

Also Matt Di Angelo will be playing Deano Wickes (Pat Buthcher's nephew). He's a cocky, charismatic young lad who expects to take the world by storm.

The legendary Frank Butcher, played by Mike Reid, will also be returning for the trial of Janine in December. Frank was last seen up to his usual dodgy dealings in the West Country.

Along with the return of the Mitchells it seems as if all stops are being pulled out by the BBC to push Eastenders back to the top of the ratings.
