The Law of the Playground is a new seven-part series about the stuff we all used to get up to at school from the warped games, chants and nicknames to the traditions and taunts that were a regular part of school life.

Inspired by Jonathan Blyth's The Law of the Playground website and book (www.playgroundlaw.com), the show features comedians and TV personalities reminiscing about their schooldays.

Like the book, it's light-hearted, witty and warm, but it's no rose-coloured wander down memory-lane, and recognises that while generally innocent, kids can be cruel, mindless, unwittingly rude and just plain wrong.

Tonight's first show features Vic Reeves, Justin Lee Collins, Alan Carr, David Mitchell, Jayne Middlemiss, Mark Dolan, Patrick McGuinness, Lee Mack and Olivia Lee looking back at the teachers they had, school discos, the art of playground lying, doing a "Chinny Reckon", nicknames and the phenomenon that was Joey Deacon.
