Britain’s Biggest Spenders tells the compelling stories of four extraordinary characters with one thing in common - an uncontrollable urge to spend like there’s no tomorrow.
Whether it's fast cars, luxurious jewellery, exotic foreign holidays or gambling, Britain’s Biggest Spenders features stories of compulsive spending and jaw-dropping excess.
Scott Alexander has made his millions from his company ‘Ultimate Lifestyle’, which sources and provides the most expensive goods and services available for his super-rich clients.
The muscle-bound, perma-tanned 31-year-old lives in Manchester’s most expensive penthouse and brings a whole new meaning to the word ‘bling’.
He has ‘No. 1’ tattooed on his formidable bicep and sports a diamond-encrusted crucifix worth £200,000. He claims he only dates Page 3 girls, owns a £1 million Rolls Royce Phantom and two Lamborghinis (and is currently awaiting delivery of two more).
But now he’s looking for a new challenge. We follow him on a trip to Bulgaria where he wants to establish himself as ‘No. 1’ by buying a town and naming if after himself.
Denize Hewitt, 34, is the beneficiary of a multi-million pound divorce settlement after she split from her super-rich property-developing ex-husband.
She owns homes in London, Newcastle and Marbella and spends her time hanging out with her wealthy divorcee friends, splashing her cash on toy boys, designer clothes, luxury holidays and pampering herself. We follow her on her latest spending spree, as she looks to buy a new luxury property in London and a yacht in Spain.
Lisa Voice, 51, was once married to Billy Fury and could easily be the real life inspiration for Ab Fab’s Patsy. One of Britain’s richest women, she’s made her money from music publishing and now spends much of her time entertaining her celebrity friends and lavishing them with gifts. She buys her clothes straight off the catwalk, sports several huge diamonds and is currently ploughing her money into a feature film about her colourful life in which she hopes Johnny Depp will play the part of her ex-husband.
Unlike the other women featured in the programme, Aimi Robinson, 31, is living beyond her means. She’s a shopaholic lap dancer who tries to live like an A-list celebrity. She spends thousands on the clothes, the makeup and the cosmetic surgery, which enable her to look the part in the high spending circles she mixes in.
But the days when she could make thousands of pounds a night are over, and her attempts to get noticed by the tabloids and make it as a glamour girl are failing.
Now she’s £80,000 in debt and is facing bankruptcy for the second time. Aimi’s mum doesn’t know about her daughter’s problems and when they go on a shopping trip together to New York for Mothers’ Day, Aimi decides to come clean…
