THE X FACTOR: BATTLE OF THE STARS

In this one-off series, The X Factor: Battle of the Stars, nine plucky celebrity acts will put their vocal talents to the test. Not only will they have to sing LIVE in front of the nation…they will face the ultimate challenge of singing in front of the judges, Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh, with Kate Thornton keeping order as the host.

The nine acts will be split into three categories, the 16-24s , Over 25s and Groups. Viewers will find out which judges will be managing which category on the first night of transmission.

Kate Thornton said: "I am really excited about Battle of the Stars, the line-up looks fantastic. I've no doubt that despite their fame my hand-holding will still be in high demand as they take on the judges often harsh words. Let's just hope I'm not having to mop up too many tears!"

As well as singing to win the show, each act will be performing to raise money for their chosen charity. Telephone voting revenue generated will go to the stars’ individual charities.

With Simon and Louis both having one win under their belts, will it finally be Sharon’s turn to triumph over the boys in mentoring the winning act? All will be revealed in the grand live final on Monday 5th June.
