Sunday the 18th September. We turn our attention to some daytime programmes to start with. On T4 on Sunday afternoon Sci-fi drama series STARGATE SG-1 New Order starts at 1510hrs . Sam and Teal'c try to get the Asgard to cure Jack. Meanwhile, the Goa'uld System Lords want to use the Tau'ri to destroy Anubis. This is followed by STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE: Storm Front part1. The Enterprise is thrown back to 1944, with the Temporal Cold War threatening to alter the outcome of World War II...
Over on E4 at 1500hrs POPWORLD has a McFly special to coincide with the release of their album Wonderland. In-depth interviews, performances and commentary.
At 1735 SCRAPYARD CHALLENGE on C4. In this first of a new series, a trio of forklift truck drivers from Kent take on three army helicopter pilots from the Home Counties in a quest to build underwater cars. The evening sees yet another head to head challenge in the ratings wars.
BBC presents the start of another six part series of WAKING THE DEAD (2100hrs). This first story, which continues on Monday, is a typically multi-layered mystery about the killings of a Heathrow Airport baggage handler, found mutilated in a water tower, and a man whose mummified body is in the hold of a decommissioned jumbo. Boyd himself (Trevor Eve) is even more twitchy and distracted than ever - it seems he's still tormented by the murder of young Mel in the last series.
On ITV the evening is dedicated to fifty years of ITV with a programme called AVENUE OF THE STARS (2000hrs) The inauguration of the British version of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Our twinkly pavement is set in St Paul's, in London's Covent Garden. Chris Tarrant and Kate Thornton are the hosts.
On Channel 4 at 2100hrs a documentary about the sex slave trade appropriately called SEX SLAVES. An estimated half a million women are trafficked annually for the purposes of sex slavery; "exported" to over 50 countries around the world. It is now the fastest growing form of organised crime in Eastern Europe. These women, some of them young girls, are lured, trafficked, repeatedly raped and then abandoned once they have served their masters and are too ravaged by diseases to continue "servicing" customers. At the heart of this compelling and provocative documentary is the remarkable story of Viorel, a Ukrainian man on a mission to rescue his wife, who is pregnant and has been sold into sexual slavery in Turkey. Using undercover cameras and eyewitness accounts, Sex Slaves follows Viorel's journey as he tries to find the pimp who "owns" his wife, Katia, so that he can buy her back.
Later on Five TRUST ME I AM A HOLIDAY REP (2255hrs) is a new series following six celebrities as they spend ten days learning how to be holiday reps in Cyprus. It's fireworks right from the start, when glamour model Jodie Marsh and `Make Me a Supermodel' star Jasmine Lennard cut up their uniforms to make them trendier - and get a roasting from the head rep. Later they all face the mayhem that is an Ayia Napa bar crawl.
